Week 17 Final Post

Social Media has transformed the way that I see business. I never really thought about launching my program and putting so much emphasis on social media, but that has surely changed. My application is very academic focus and though that social media was just not the appropriate platform but that has turned out to be completely false. My Student Success application is essentially an application that allows students to meet and engage with each other, with the goal of students being able to meet, support and create opportunities for one another. This works by connecting students that have the same major, transfer destination, or career interest as you with a simple click of a button. This, I felt, like was not going to do well on social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram but I have been shown that that it not true. Facebook and Instagram, with the right advertising can be used for pretty much any business. Preferably, Facebook was the best platform to promote my business. By...

Week 16 Post 1

I have enjoyed Facebook the most by far. I find Facebook to be extremely interactive and easy to get attention as well as appropriate feedback. Facebook is so large that if you can reach the right people and know exactly who to advertise to, your company can be extremely successful. I really enjoyed advertising my company on Facebook because we are able to reach out to our specific population: high school students and college students. The one that I disliked the most was Twitter. My messages tend to be informative and therefore a bit large and Twitter just did not have as many people in our population to be able to reach out to. Twitter was just not the platform for us to use. Not many people, not our pool and not the best way to reach people. At least, that was the way that I felt about it. Facebook has a number of tools that I have found very useful. My Facebook page did a great job of putting my company out there. More specifically, I found three different things that I used to m...

Week 15 Post 2

As for my first measurement: Total likes, comments and shares, the amount of total likes is 11,458 and the comments and shares range from 8 to 17 per post. This is a great example of presenting ourselves to a large number of people but still not doing well enough. We are able to reach a large range but are unable to go deep. This can be seen in the large number of total likes and how it is not on level with the comments and shares. We need to find a better way to engage the audience. Total likes, comments and shares are crucial to the company's online success as the higher the number that people will visit and/or see our posts in the future, a good indicator or predictor of that. As for the second measurement: Number of people reached and people engaged. We reached almost 24,000 people. The vast majority of them being in the United States. Almost half of those Americans being from San Diego. This helps us narrow down to see if our audience is really the people we are targeting to...

Week 15 Post 1

Having a Facebook page for your business can do a really great job of putting it out there. However, you have to know how to use it. There are a number of tools that are there to help your company get attention but not using them correctly is like driving in the dark without your headlights on. It is critical to know how to use the tools in the right ways. For me, there are 3 things that I would like to measure to determine if my company was a success through Facebook. Those 3 different features that I would check for are 1) Total likes, comments and shares. 2) Number of people reached and people engaged. 3) Page and tab visits. First, I think that total likes, comments and shares is important because it is very important to have a positive engagement on your page. The higher the number is a huge indicator that more people will see your posts in the future. Second, I think that the number of people reached is important because it will give us insight as to people on Facebook have we ...

The Facebook ads that I created will be very successful. The three Facebook ads are consistent and hold a slightly different message. The message for each is geared towards a slightly different population. The first is geared towards the general audience and welcomes any person in the US that would be willing to learn more about our company. The second ad is geared towards high school student specifically. Here we show what the college life is like, what college is best for you, what career is best for you with quizzes and matches your school, major and city to best fit the high school students need. The last ad is about community college students. Here we offer more information about transferring to the school that is best for you in terms of prestige, cost, location, school size, school engagement/student life and so much more. The three ads have the same picture because we want our logo to be the main thing that the audience see, that way we are able to build a brand. Bui...

Week 13 Post 2

Week 13 Post 2: I am really geared towards posting ads on Facebook, more specifically, Facebook banners. Facebook banners has targeting options that are very advanced, very affordable and can still get excellent results, helps develop customer loyalty, can help track performance and ROI. Facebook banners help target the specific audience that you want to reach based on several factors such as gender, proximity and other important factors that help weed out the people that you don't needs and help you focus on the audience that truly matters. Facebook banners also have different options that can help work with you. There are options such as Optimized CPM, CPC (Cost per click) and CPA (Cost per action). Facebook banners can also help track the amount of times your ad was shown, the number of actions or clicks people took and the cost per click, cost per like, and cost per conversion based on your specific goals.

Week 13 Post 1

Week 13 Post 1: Princeton Review - Princeton Review is most popular for their SAT practice test and stuff like that, they actually offer a lot more than just that. They offer a number of services directed towards helping students find that careers right for them. They are also planning to expand on it. There website is also really nice with a very cool design and very accurate results. The only thing is that that it is not that popular. It gets attention but not major attention. In terms of social media, the Princeton Review gets a lot of attention nationally, but the career aspect of the Princeton Review remains in the shadows. They average out to almost sixty thousand followers in between all platforms.  They post around three times a week and their last post was yesterday. They get easily over a thousand likes for an average post. They receive a very high number of comments and their most common hashtags are preparation, success, and university. I love how they have establ...

Week 12 Post 2:

Linked In: We would try to reach out, connect and work with some of the most popular groups or chains that are in LinkedIn. It would also be extremely helpful if we reached out to everyone - from local high schools all the way to elite universities. My page would just really participate in various large groups. I would join groups that are directly related to our business and to our interests. YouTube: I would absolutely love to use YouTube because it is very popular, having videos for our prestigious clients would make them get our memberships, it is very easy to work with and it is very easy to reach a large amount of people with the right measures. I would also keep our page updated all the time. I would talk about what we are working on and who we are working for. As well as include all possible updates that would be of interest to our target customers and clients.

Week 12 Post 1:

What additional online marketing tools do you believe could be important to the growth of your business? There are many more than I have mentioned below. How could you integrate them into your current strategy? I believe that could use more than social media to reach the targeted population. I think that the most important thing for my business to grow and be noticed is to have a user friendly website. After that I think that having the right connections and advertising ourselves in other websites that would be of benefit to us. The last thing would be through social media. I would integrate all of these into my current stare they by making sure that I have a good website, by making sure that were working with the right people and reach it to the right audience and financially by gathering a lot of attention in the eyes of others through social media. We can really get our name out there by sponsoring academic events and making sure that what we do reaches out to the younger kids...

Week 11 Post 1

For my company I think emails every other day would be the best option. We would need to remind our customers or potential clients. However, every email that we send would focus on the different things that we offer. For example one email could be titled “Find your career with Student Success” and be filled with information and career options in regards to whatever the student may be looking for. Another email or newsletter could be titled “What school is best for you? Find out with Student Success!” This email could provide the link to a quiz in which we could provide the student with questions that lead to the perfect university for them in terms of price, proximity, prestige, culture, job opportunities and other variables that the student decides to factor in. By providing these various options our clients do not get bored with the same email of “buy our product”. This is how we plan to reach our clients in the most effective way possible.

Week 10 Post 2

I think that the best way to stay organized is to have a plan of what it is that will be posted and to post stuff consistently. This consistency is what ultimate keeps bringing customers back and drive them into the product that one has to offer. That is what makes a company profitable is the relation between the seller and the customer. People I commented on: Walz, Tracey Stewart, Lynne Raketich, Carlyrose

Week 10 Post 1

Attaching meaning to a product is much more important to anything else. This can be seen in anything such as medicine all the way up to jewelry. This is because everyone knows that when it comes to medicine, the costs becomes secondary. The main things is that it works and that the persons at pain can be relieved of it. This allows people who sell medicine to people at a much higher price because they know that people will have to buy it either way. Same thing with jewelry. There is a stigma that if you truly love someone you will not buy them a product that's cheap. Commercials and personal experiences are the best attaching meaning to a product and whenever meaning is attached to a product, it will sell.

Week 9 Post 2

Week 9 Post 1

Which search words you used to find your connections? Did you have to play around with more than one key term to start seeing the right results? Who did you end up finding? Education, Success, School, Make a difference, Academic were perhaps my most popular searches. The searches were pretty easy to work with thanks to Twitter. What lists did you create and why? How does creating a list on Twitter help you stay organized or reach a goal? I created a list of Business partners and a list of Connections. Both are academic but Business Partners has companies that work with us while Connections has companies that would help us but are a little different. What time would more customers see your tweets? When are they most effective? Honestly, I felt like I received the same amount of views no matter the time was. I know that this may probably not be normal but it seemed fine as of now!

Week 8 Post 1

I think that social media outlets like facebook and Instagram might be helpful in building a brand for my company but I feel like I need much more than that. I feel like social media will get our name out there but we must take other measures to truly establish ourselves in the competitive industry of education. Student Success will first reach out to California Community Colleges and show them why this application can bring solutions to so many problems that community colleges have. There are millions of college students that have problems ranging form what to to major into all the way up to get getting internship or business opportunities. For that we will need a website that professional, educational institutions can look into. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Student-Success-600809847047878/posts/?ref=page_internal

Having these interactions with other websites, it will increase the amount of traffic that will be brought into your page. The more activity that you have the more that others will visit your page.

Week 7 Post 1

1. Naviance: Has general information about higher education, extremely valuable connection. 2. Blackboard: Program used in schools for information about student’s classes, valuable connection 3. Common Application: Application website used for freshman and transfer applications, very valuable connection 4. Harvard University: World renowned university, if we get recognition from this school our product will launch much better, valuable connection 5. Grammarly: Very popular editing website, used for educational purposes, valuable connection 6. Quizlet: Flashcards used for studying for classes, used for educational purposes, valuable connection 7. Course Hero: Notes and answers used for studying, used for educational purposes, valuable connection All of these connections will start helping our company build a brand!

Week 6 Post 2

Post Reach is the number of people who visited your page, saw your page or a published post from your page. Basically, anyone who encountered our page or postings. However, Post Reach excludes ads. Post Engagement on Facebook is when anyone performs any type of action on your post is. This could be a like, a comment or a share. Anything that helps your company. This is typically when some goes out of their way to voice their opinion on something about you company or product. Post Reach can be seen as the surface while Post Engagement can be seen as the depthness. Both are critical but post engagement is more important. What would be the point of reaching a lot of people that are not that interested. It is better to reach 1 million people that are engaged or pertain to the subject rather than 30 million people that will just ignore your post every time you have something to share. This has made me realize that if one wants to have a very successful page, it needs to have atten...
